Transforming my keg into a six pack

Let me just preface this entry with a little background:

This is not going to be a fitness or weightloss blog. The thing is, I’ve just recently become interested in getting in fit shape. I don’t intend to flood this blog with many entries related to fitness, however this is a sort of journaling for me so I will be posting some items of interest.

Mun's Fitness BlogI recently stumbled upon Mun’s fitness blog which is mostly if not mainly related to motivation, exercise, gym etiquette, etc… If your interested in any of the mentioned, definitely check it out.

Getting into shape isn’t something that I just decided to do. In fact it took a lot of careful consideration, planning and research. Over the years, staying in shape hasn’t been on the top of my priorities list. This was due to several factors. I was working a job with long hours, choirs had to be done around(and out, especially when there’s loads of snow to shovel) the house, my many car maintenance issues and studying has recently made the top of my list. Those are all subjects I’ll probably tactical in a later post but you get the idea. Time was not on my side.

While researching some ideas, I came across Mun’s blog on fitness. I’ve been using a program that randomly forwards me to a site of interest based on topics I input. Fitness was one of those topics. What cause my eye was the entry on “How to Build Body Like Ryan Reynolds”. To be quite honest, Ryan Reynolds was not someone I aspired to be. I mean sure, he’s in shape and has a collection of comedy, drama, and scifi movies under his belt. But he wasn’t exactly a (celebrity)person I looked up to. What’s nice about Mun’s blog is that he has pictures to illustrate his point. And I was quite surprised Ryan actually takes on the persona of his roles quite seriously. This is what got me thinking about my own fitness goals. I am going to build a Ryan Reynold’s body.

Some things to consider:

1.) Sure, I don’t have a celebrity trainer whose probably paid the BIG bucks to whip me into shape and control my sudden urges for fast food, soda & potato chips. But I’ve got my personal drive, and that must count for something. I don’t think, I’ll manage gaining a six pack within 3 months but I’m pretty sure with constant dedication and training I’ll manage.

2.) The high caliber workout supplements will probably not find its way into my cabinets. But I’ve managed to find some pretty decide products through suggestions and reviews online. I’m not referring to steroids, I’m talking about protein bars, drinks, etc…

3.) Time, I’m going to make time from now on to get through this objective. Waking up an extra hour early to run and jog will help with this but also changing my diet and my sleep schedule will allow me to work around my workouts.

So it seems like some of my ideas will fit(pun intended) into my hectic schedule?
