Hollywood’s constant churning out new movies with interesting themes. I thought to brush upon some old school movies about schools. With this list of:
10 11 Movies that will motivate you to study.
As you’ll notice with most of my lists, there is no specific order in which they are numbered. It has nothing to do with me being lazy or disorganized. It’s simply because numbering the movies in the order or importance is quite futile. I consider most of these movies to stand on their own plateau. It’s really a matter of subjectivity, what you might consider better than another may be the opposite of my view point.

Btw, 187 is police code for homicide. Interestingly enough, this movie was actually written by a teacher.
2.) The Principal
This movie starred James Belushi in a fitting role as a principal of a corrupt school. To clean it up, he has to face the baddest students.
3.) Stand and Deliver
The best line in the movie, “What is Calculus?”:
4.) Dangerous Minds
Coolios Gangsta’s Paradise probably the most memorable song of this movie.
5.) Lean on Me
“Your suspended indefinitely”
6.) Mr. Holland’s Opus
7.) Dead Poet’s Society
Robin Williams plays some mind games with the kiddies.
8.) Renaissance Man
Yet another comedian playing a teacher. I’ve seen things vice versa in real life!
9.) Proof
Let’s face it, Gwenyth Paltrow is hot.
10.) Summer School
I learned about the original, Texas Chainsaw Massacre from this flick!
11.) A Beautiful Mind
Russel Crowe as an intellectual… hard to believe but he pulled off a pretty good movie. Having Jennifer Connelly didn’t hurt casting either.
Honorable mentions:
High School High - Tia Carrera is such a hottie! But this is a really bad comedy.
Breakfast Club - Though it took place in a school. It centers around detention and has nothing to do with really excelling or overcoming an educational dilemma. But then again, they did have the nerd write their papers for them in the end?
